Juan Rulfo’s work, consisting essentially of the short story collection El Llano en llamas and the novels Pedro Páramo and El gallo de oro, have made him one of the most important writers of his century. Numerous authors – of the stature of Gabriel García Márquez, Jorge Luis Borges and Susan Sontag – have left testimonies to this.
