Vicente Rojo (Barcelona 1932), travels to Mexico to meet his father, a political exile from the Civil War. It is there that he develops his pictorial work, to the point that he is considered one of the most influential artists of the Mexican abstractionist current, as well as his facet as a promoter of numerous cultural enterprises.
“Escrito/Pintado” offers a journey through the work of Vicente Rojo and brings together an outstanding selection of graphic and editorial design works, artist’s books, sculpture and painting series, sketches and engravings, in which a multitude of negotiations unfolds between printed letter, sign as a gesture and painting as a process.
