San Pedro Garza García, a municipality in the Mexican state of Nuevo León, founded in 1882, currently has a population of 150,000 and ranks at the top in terms of wealth and human development in all of Latin America.
Families in San Pedro form a complex social fabric, with different measures of status and power than in the rest of the country. The magazines and society pages of the newspapers play an important role in understanding how the inhabitants relate to each other. This is a society familiar with power, which they recognise as a natural part of their lives. Thus, San Pedro Garza García reveals itself as a fertile field for photographer Yvonne Venegas, the result of which is shown in this new photobook, which constitutes her fourth monographic publication.
