Photographer Facundo de Zuviría (b. 1954 in Argentina) has always captured façades from straight on, seeking in their simple and austere lines the defining features of their essence and an objective mode of representation.
Drawing on this idea, he proposed to compile a sort of personal catalogue of urban façades, photographing middle-class houses in traditional neighborhoods, modest storefronts, and other buildings whose exact purpose can be difficult to define.
The project entitled Frontalismo was conceived in 2010, when Facundo de Zuviría had the opportunity to travel to all twenty-three of Argentina’s provincial capitals, photographing the façades that for one reason or another seemed to him appealing and representative of each city in turn.
