Very few artists manage to produce original and emblematic views of big cities. Facundo de Zuviría (Argentina, 1954), who makes the urban landscape the main theme of his work, is one of them.
Facundo de Zuviría’s photographic peregrinations through Buenos Aires, which became a habit in the eighties, were born from his obsessions. Rather than by chance, they are due to a desire to reconstruct the city through what now exists only in fragile pieces, “modest differences,” to borrow Borges’ words.
Facundo de Zuviría has published books such as Estampas Porteñas, Siesta Argentina, and Paraná Ra’Anga, among many others. He has shown his work in biennials, as well as in museums and galleries in different countries. He has recently exhibited at the Fondation Cartier in Paris and at the International Center of Photography in New York.
