Paolo Gasparini returns with a new photobook: Andata e ritorno. Undoubtedly, ambitious, it comes in three languages (Italian, Spanish, English), it has a “small” and very personal history of the photobook written by Gasparini himself, the design of Ricardo Báez and a particular constellation of poets, essayists and translators (Marco Menato, Silvio Mignano, Octavio Armand, Adalber Salas Hernández, Victoria Ballas Armas, who writes this). The result: a unique work of its kind, memorable, published in Caracas by the publishing house La Cueva, printed in Madrid with Brizzolis, although it had already been created in the photographer’s native Gorizia. Here, then, his true story.
Alejandro Sebastiani Verlezza, in the sometimes happy Caracas, May 2019.
