This volume gathers a selection of texts and conversations about the work of Mexican artist Carlos Amorales.
The book deals with work from over the span of his entire career, from his first projects in the 1990s, such as Amorales vs. Amorales, to his most recent explorations and exhibitions, such as his participation in the Mexican pavilion at the Venice Biennale in 2017 and the individual exhibition organized by the Museo Universitario Arte Contemporáneo at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) in 2018.
The texts include contributions to catalogues, academic essays, literary appreciations, critiques, analyses, and reviews. Also included are numerous dialogues between the artist himself and various critics, curators, designers, students, and other artists. These encounters move over a much freer terrain, in the rhythm of conversation and everyday speech.
