“40 Spins” is a visual experience, an excursion through mind and memory. The twenty-four sequence of images that make up the work construct a dialogue of sensations, a journey through the history of what is human. The rhythm, the pauses, the spaces of smells, forms, and memories reveal moments of the spirit, sensibility, and diversity of the world.
From childhood on, the record of the hand and of the word: images and memories forming constellations charged with meaning, moments, visions, construction, and discovery. Archetypes of cultures and natures invite the viewer to contemplate senses, review ideas and emotions, linger over details and totalities, within and without the time span of a personal history.
James Turrell, sculptor of light, introduces the author as an intense explorer of life.
