The idea at the origin of Descabezados is the attempt to rearrange journal- istic information in order to generate an optical effect out of proportion with its strictly informative purposes. Words are read as images, unfolding to offer a different vision of the landscapes configured by our present-day circumstances.
The book consists of a series of headlines taken from Mexican newspapers in the course of 2014, selected on the basis of interest, affinities, sympathies, or taste. Combined to construct links between the lines, these form a chrono- logical logbook of the play of information and the use of language (a sort of ping-pong between articulation and paradox). This bridge between text and image constitutes a catalyst for fascinating new readings.
